Mory Kromah is riding high after his spectacular win at Glory 100. The 25-year-old fighter knocked out Bahram Rajabzadeh in devastating fashion. Making a loud statement in the heavyweight division.

Kromah didn’t waste time setting his next goal. He wants to win the upcoming 32-man Grand Prix. And if he does, he has only one man in his sights—Rico Verhoeven.

Mory Kromah makes it clear he’s coming for the champion

In a recent interview with Warrior Code, Kromah spoke with full confidence. “I’m going to beat Rico,” he said. “If I win the tournament—and I fully believe I will—I want to fight him.”

Kromah is not shy about his ambitions. He looks at other challengers who failed to take down Verhoeven—fighters like Badr Hari, Jamal Ben Saddik, and Tariq 'Cookie' Osaro. But Kromah thinks he is different.

“I want to be the guy who finally stops him,” Kromah explained. “I want to be the one who really puts an end to Rico’s run.”

The mindset and hunger make the difference, says Kromah

For Kromah it all comes down to mentality. He believes his mindset combined with his hunger for success sets him apart. He claims it gives him an edge over every other opponent Verhoeven has faced.

After Glory 100, Kromah addressed Verhoeven directly at the post-fight press conference. “You said the winner gets to fight you. I’m going to win. And I’m going to beat you,” Kromah told the reigning champion.

Experts warn that beating Verhoeven takes more than talk

Not everyone is convinced by Kromah’s bold words. Inside the kickboxing scene, opinions are divided. Some believe he’s moving too fast and letting early success get to his head.

One voice from the community commented, “It’s all fun and games until you face Rico. He’s not an easy opponent. Mory is talented, no doubt, but he should be careful that fame doesn’t cloud his judgment—or that of his team.”

The message is simple: talent alone is not enough. Verhoeven has been at the top for a reason. He fights smart, keeps calm under pressure, and knows what it takes to stay at the elite level.
